Getting photos up, will add more text tomorrow.

Remove seats. Each seat is held in by 4 bolts, 15mm.  The drivers seat has a power connector underneath and the passenger has the airbag sensor connector under it.  The seat belt is held on with a #50 torx.  It doesn't have to be removed to do the install but this makes it simpler.

I partiall removed the seat covers.
Seat backs:
The back was the easiest.  Unzip both zippers to the top, then pull the flap to the side until it detaches from the bottom clip.  Pull back the side that doesn't have the release knob.  When separating the velcrow strips, keep a finger pressed agains the velcrow on the seat to prevent it from separating.  Pull the cover up and over the top.  Install the heated seat kit as below in the photos.  Pull the cover back over and work the velcrow back into the groves as you lower the cover.  Tuck the heated seat cable to the side of the seat that is closest to the center of the car.   When you are ready to zip tie the cable below the seat, make sure the seat is full released forward and then secure the cable.  (if not, you will damage the cable the next time you move the seat back forward)

Seat Bottoms:
If you have seat adjuster

Excellent reference guide.  I'll be doing this mod in the next week or two.  Can't wait.

Thanks for the picts Joe, but it just convinces me that I should should wait for the mod meet where I'll have some expert and needed support....I really do like where the switches are mounted in your install.

Joe, didn't you have to drill into the actual dash panel behind where you mounted the switches?  Mine was solid behind the snapin panel and we had to drill there as well.  3rd and 2nd picture from the end. The panel behind the panel with the switches.

Mine had a space about 1 inch and I found that when I cut back the large heat shrink behind the switch, the wires were able to bend over and not interfere.

No affect on the heating elements, so long as you're using the pads with carbon fiber circuits, at least.  You can make slits across the middle of the pad, width-wise, so long as you don't go across the edge.  Our seats covers are held on with hook and loop (velcro) fasteners.  The slits allow the seat pad to stick to the seat cushion still.

According to the engrish directions, the best I can tell is that those stickers (mine were perforated in strips, Critter's were not) are intended to act as insulators in hog ring-type seats.  You're supposed to wrap the metal rods in them and they are supposed to prevent those rods from wearing holes in the heating elements and shorting out.

What did you do about the electric? I'm at that point in my install and trying to figure out where to run the NEG line to. Back to the battery or catch something under seat or dash?
Thanks. dont know

There's a grounding bolt on top of the transmission tunnel between the seats, under the center armrest.  You can just use that.

I don't know why I had a brain fart here, the kit comes with red and white leads. Since it wasn't black I didn't think to just run it to the body. Doh!

Thanks tomatosoup.

Thanks for the excellent write up and pictures Joe.  My heat pads just arrived today.  We're supposed to have 50 degrees here on LI this weekend.  It might be a good time to put them in.  I'm going to try to do the saggy seat fix at the same time using JPM's directions.

I copied all of your pictures and instruction to a dedicated web page and added some comments that I read from other posts about this topic.

http://www.cherod.com/solstice/HowTos/HeatedSeats.htm

I had a question about the switch location. I thought it might be more convenient to have the switches mounted closer to the passenger and the driver.  I was thinking of mounting them on sides of the shifter tunnel as show in this picture.

http://www.cherod.com/solstice/HowTos/HeatedSeats_files/image051.jpg
How to: Install heated seats

From the pictures, it looks like there  might be enough clearance to mount the switches somewhere along these sides.  What do you think?

There isn't much space on the sides for the depth of the switches and the harness.

Odiaz, Looked at your page on the seats.  Nice.  If you look at the second to last photo, there is a black wire at the bottom right with a blue crimp connector barely showing.  That is the location to ground them.  You can take off your center console and see the stud sticking up.  Also, each seat comes with a in-line 10a fuse so I soldered the power wires together keeping those fuses and then soldered them to a 20a fuse tap.

Don't know if there's enough depth there as DBG says.  But in any case, I personally think it's a bad idea to have the passenger switch out of sight of the driver.  Very easy to leave it on and not realize it.

Of all the switch mount places I've seen, I prefer the way that I and 2kwk4u did it -- above the radio, below/between the A/C knobs (of course I may be biased).
